In line with its mandate to support vulnerable populations affected by emergencies, the State Department for Special Programmes has extended immediate humanitarian assistance to over 100 families displaced by a fire that broke out in Mukuru Kwa Njenga earlier this week. Responding with urgency and compassion, the department coordinated a relief package that included 100 bags of rice (50kg each), 100 bags of beans (50kg each), 200 blankets, 100 mattresses, 10 boxes of soap, and 3 bales of sanitary pads. The intervention aims to provide immediate comfort and restore a sense of dignity to the affected families as they begin the process of recovery. Officials from the department were on the ground to oversee the distribution and engage with local leaders and residents, reinforcing the government’s commitment to being present and responsive in times of crisis.
